Whether you view him as merely a deep asset for the Kremlin, forced to surface to defend "Mother Russia" in increasingly ludicrous ways, or as a sincere geopolitical theorist whose ideas of "offensive realism" and "great power rationalism" have been crushed by facts on the ground, one thing is clear: Mearsheimer is a geopolitical joke.
