The latest case, which shocked people just as much as the previous 5,893 cases, apparently involved Chinese cyber-spies hacking the bank details of Britain's army of "squaddies."
As reported by the BBC:
"The government suspects China was behind the hack of an armed forces payroll system, the BBC understands. Defence Secretary Grant Shapps will not identify a specific culprit when he addresses MPs today, but is expected to warn of the dangers posed by cyber espionage from hostile states. The system used by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) includes names and bank details of armed forces personnel."
It is not yet known what sinister use Beijing will put this knowledge to, but one suggestion is that Beijing might be able to find out what the different ranks in the British army are paid, and then outbid the UK government by throwing a few quid on top of that, to take over the UK in a bloodless coup.
How a future Chinese-dominated London might look
