CONSERVATIVE PARTY ON COURSE FOR ELECTORAL WIPEOUT FOLLOWING POINTLESS CHANGE OF LEADERS

Doomed!

Tory MPs must really hate their jobs, as the two final contenders for the Conservative Party leadership are both on course for electoral wipeout at the next General Election, something that will see most of the 357 Tory MPs losing their jobs. The next election is due to be held by 2024.

The final two candidates, selected by fellow Conservative MPs in a round of ballots, are former chancellor Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Truss. Neither are very popular or likeable and will now face an election involving all 150,000 or so Conservative Party members.

However, according to a July 19th poll at FindoutNowUK, it doesn't matter which one wins the leadership contest, as the Tories are set to be crushed under either leader, with both polling at a measly 25%. This is 20 points lower than the score achieved by former leader Boris Johnson in the 2019 election.

The leadership contest was forced on the party after Johnson stepped down following a trivial incident in which a Conservative MP apparently touched another man's bottom under the influence of alcohol during LGBTQ+ Pride month.
