Chinese-made J-10C fighter jet
Neokrat is an entirely uninterested party in the unfortunate conflict between India and Pakistan over the scenic mountain province of Kashmir, but we keep tabs on it to monitor military developments that might have wider ramifications.
The latest as-yet-unconfirmed and partial reports suggest that Pakistan basically kicked India's sorry ass when its giant neighbour launched strikes against various targets in Pakistani territory. Although several targets were hit (supposedly in retaliation for a terrorist attack in Indian controlled Kashmir), it seems that the Indian air force suffered badly, losing at least three of its jets to enemy action, and possibly five.
Pakistan has claimed that its forces shot down five Indian Air Force jets, including three French-built Dassault Rafale fighters, one Russian-built Sukhoi Su-30MKI, and one also-Russian-built Mikoyan MiG-29. Also an Israeli-built IAI Heron drone was downed.
In fact, Indian losses have been so bad they have even been forced to deploy "Ghost of Kashmir" memes to pollute the info-space and cast doubt on the fact-based narrative that is emerging.

Indian cope
The "Ghost of Kashmir" meme, by the way, is a variant of the the "Ghost of Kyiv" meme, referring to an overused and subsequently discredited piece of morale-boosting propaganda form the Russo-Ukrainian War.
Originally a simple pro-Ukrainian morale-boosting meme, it soon became a Russian "double-bluff" meme designed to poo-poo any negative news stories about Russian setbacks. Now it is typically used in the Russian sense, namely to make actual enemy victories sound like vacuous propaganda to an uninformed internet audience. However, simply deploying the meme is a smokescreen and a sign of weakness that shows flight from the truth.
Despite deploying the meme, India has been forced to partially admit its losses, saying that three of its fighter jets "crashed" in Jammu and Kashmir on May 7, 2025, as reported by Reuters and local government sources.
Pakistan is equipped by the Chinese. Pakistani sources claimed they used Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets equipped with PL-15E long-range air-to-air missiles to shoot down the Indian jets, as well as the Chinese-made HQ-9B surface-to-air missile system.
If these details turn out to be true, it will be a big boost for Chinese military tech over French, Russian, and Israeli military tech. Watch this space.
