More concerns have been raised about Middle America's tenuous relationship with reality after its main access point for the outside world, Fox News anchor-man Tucker Carlson, was exposed as a total fake who has been blatantly lying to it for years.
The revelations came after a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox led to the release of thousands of internal Fox emails. As reported by Politico:

His support of Trump and many Trump-adjacent issues has been one of convenience, and when not a matter of convenience, a measure of his fear of Trump.“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights,” Carlson texted an unnamed Fox co-worker on Jan. 4, 2021. “I truly can’t wait.” When Carlson’s colleague responded, “I want nothing more,” Carlson texted back, “I hate him passionately.”Carlson continued: “What he’s good at is destroying things. He’s the undisputed world champion of that. He could easily destroy us if we play it wrong.” Elsewhere, Carlson said of the Trump presidency, “That’s the last four years. We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There isn’t really an upside to Trump.”
Of course, the mainstream media can be expected to distort the truth and most people are at least aware of various biases. However, anchors like Tucker sell themselves on being "tribunes of the people," who sincerely share the views and concerns of their audience and are, above all else, totally honest.
Now this farce has been completely exposed in Tucker's case, revealing a cynical, glib, corporate manipulator, who has nothing but seething contempt for his low IQ viewers.

The only question remains is what is Tucker and Fox's real agenda, and why does the corporation routinely push Putinist narratives?
The most likely explanation can probably be found in China's penetration of Fox and the Murdoch family. Not only was Fox owner Rupert Murdoch married to a probable Chinese spy, but his family have major deals with China that can be used to exert leverage on the media conglomerate to call in favours.
