Climate activists like Greta Thunberg are being watched closely now by random people on the internet to see how they are taking the news that sea ice has rapidly increased in recent years.
For years, the Gretas of this world have been the centre of attention, insisting that we should cut back on stuff like meat, cars, and disposable plastic bags, because the global climate is warming up.
However, recent data has noticed a dramatic uptick in the exact opposite of what these people have been claiming, with evidence of global cooling actually increasing!

Ice melting at the Poles is still one of the crucial supports for the entire command-and-control Net Zero political agenda.

Yes, from 1980 to a few years ago, there was a general trend towards less ice, confirming the environmental alarmist position that gave enormous powers to national governments to start micro-managing the lives of their citizens. But from around 2016-2017, we see a sharp uptick the opposite way, with more ice being formed.
In the Antarctic there has been a different pattern. In fact, down there, ice formation started increasing around 2008 before dropping back around 2015 and then increasing again around 2018.
"The above graph shows changes in Arctic sea ice cover during the satellite era. Values are anomalies from the 1991-2020 average. Eschenbach notes that since around 1990, people have been talking about how human-emitted carbon dioxide is reducing the amount of Arctic sea ice. When it started dropping very fast, there was talk we’d passed a ‘tipping’ point from which the ice would never recover. Over this time, noted Eschenbach, predictions of an ice-free Arctic ocean abounded."

Yes, it seems that the climate picture is a lot more complex than hysterical control freaks like Greta and her gang would have you believe.
No wonder this shrill harpy of climate catastrophe has been keeping a lower profile of late. We can only hope that she doesn't take the climate's refusal to cooperate with her totalitarian agenda in a bad way and do something silly.
I have a tip for her: chill out, Greta, go and relax with a bit of cross-country skiing, or make a snowman or something. Your career as the "Joan of Arc" of the killjoy green movement is dead in the water (or should that be the ice?).
