GAY TORIES SUPPORTING RISHI?

According to Spectator columnist and "right-wing gatekeeper" Douglas Murray, the Tory Party is possibly the gayest organisation on the planet. In a recent column Murray wrote:

In my own experience, the one thing that made the Conservative party conference any fun at all was that it is probably the gayest event in the UK social calendar. The Labour party conference is too filled with earnest hermaphrodites for any fun to be had. If you suggested sex at the Liberal Democrat conference you would probably be hauled out by the police – unless of course you were advocating sex with a minor. The Conservative party conference, by contrast, is an event so gay that it is almost unparalleled. The only two places I know that are almost as gay are Eurovision and the GAY club in Soho, and it’s still a photo finish.

Yes, sheer gay triumphalism. Pretty normal these days for what was once the leading conservative periodical.

In the same magazine, another gay Tory and ex-MP wrote about having a bath outside in his garden surrounded by his pet lamas!!!!

So, legitimate question to ask: how many gays are in the Tory Party and who are they supporting in the present leadership contest?

Of course, this being the Tory Party, most of them still want to keep it from voters and normal party members, so I would estimate only a third to a quarter are really being open about their sexuality.

According to this rather
well-sourced website there are 25 openly LGBTQ+ Tory MPs. They are:

Antony Higginbotham MP for Burnley
Chris Clarkson MP for Heywood and Middleton
Crispin Blunt MP for Reigate
Damien Moore MP for Southport
Daniel Kawczynski for Shrewsbury and Atcham
David Mundell for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale
Dehenna Davison MP for Bishop Auckland
Elliot Colburn MP for Carshalton and Wallington
Gary Sambrook MP for Birmingham Northfield
Iain Stewart MP for Milton Keynes South
Jacob Young MP for Redcar
Jamie Wallis MP for Bridgend and Porthcawl
Kieran Mullan MP for Crewe and Nantwich
Lee Rowley MP for North East Derbyshire
Mark Fletcher for Bolsover
Mark Menzies MP for Fylde
Michael Fabricant MP for Lichfield
Mike Freer MP for Finchley and Golders Green
Nick Gibb MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton
Nigel Evans MP fpr Ribble Valley
Paul Holmes MP for Eastleigh
Peter Gibson MP for Darlington
Scott Benton MP for Blackpool South
Stuart Andrew MP for Pudsey
William Wragg MP for Hazel Grove

So how are the gays lining up in the latest leadership contest? Is there any pattern in their support? Is there a gay agenda of some kind? With over 70% of MPs having made their preference known, the gay MPs have lined up as follows:

Boris Johnson (4 out of 76) 5.2%

Antony Higginbotham MP for Burnley
Michael Fabricant MP for Lichfield
Scott Benton MP for Blackpool South
Chris Clarkson MP for Heywood and Middleton

Rishi Sunak (10 out of 151): 6.6%

Crispin Blunt MP for Reigate
Iain Stewart MP for Milton Keynes South
Nick Gibb MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton
David Mundell for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale
Jamie Wallis MP for Bridgend and Porthcawl
Mark Menzies MP for Fylde
Paul Holmes MP for Eastleigh
Mike Freer MP for Finchley and Golders Green
Peter Gibson MP for Darlington
Stuart Andrew MP for Pudsey

Penny Mordaunt (2 out of 28) 7.1%

Elliot Colburn MP for Carshalton and Wallington
Kieran Mullan MP for Crewe and Nantwich

Undeclared (9)

Damien Moore MP for Southport
Daniel Kawczynski for Shrewsbury and Atcham
Dehenna Davison MP for Bishop Auckland
Gary Sambrook MP for Birmingham Northfield
Jacob Young MP for Redcar
Lee Rowley MP for North East Derbyshire
Mark Fletcher for Bolsover
Nigel Evans MP fpr Ribble Valley
William Wragg MP for Hazel Grove

So, it is clear that Rishi has more gay supporters and a higher percentage of gay support (6.6%) than Johnson (5.2%). But Mordaunt, at 7.1%, is the most LGBTQ+ candidate.
