There has rightly been something of a backlash against the overly sympathetic appointment of a delusional and deceitful Black man to a professorship at Cambridge University, one of the oldest and most venerable academic institutions in the World.
The result of this backlash is that Jason Arday has been forced to resign to prevent further investigations into the web of unvetted lies on which his appointment was based. I suspect this resignation also protects the Cambridge academics and insiders who connived at and furthered his ridiculous appointment.
This case of an unqualified fake being generously overpromoted can't help reminding one of the present Prime Minister of the UK, Andy Burnham.
Like Arday, Burnham was boosted into his venerable position on a tide of "feels" by a similar sympathetic cabal of supporters. This was based on very little in the way of proved merit. Burnham wasn't even a member of parliament until a month or two ago, and was last a junior minister under Gordon Brown (2010).
As for his so-called "achievements" as Manchester Mayor, nothing he did there stands up very well to scrutiny.

The city remains a debt-burdened, crime-infested shithole with high rates of drug use and welfarism. Ironically much of the city's so-called "economic success" and its "redevelopment" is based on criminals laundering their money, forcing up property prices and creating a credit boom for homeowners generally, something that also shuts out young people trying to get a foot on the property ladder. Not exactly a healthy or even a socialist economic model.
If Burnham is to have any kind credibility beyond a brief honeymoon period eked out with cheery Northern TikTok or Instagram videos, then he needs to go to the country and subject his Manchesterist vibe "politics" to the vetting of a UK General Election.
Of course he won't, because, like Jason Arday, he knows his schtick won't stand up to further investigation. Instead the British public are going to have to find out the hard way what a cheap fraud he is.
