The brave European aristocrat would delegate banking, taxes, or accounting to his wife or a Jew. He would focus on conquest, war, and territory - the manly pursuits. But our era changed all this.
Industrial machines ended the farmers' way of life and noble war became and industrial meat grinder. All of a sudden, the abstract realms of Banking, Academics, and Theatre revealed themselves as the true seats of power.
