Several facilities in Iran, including arms factories, appear to have been hit by a number of drones or missiles. It is not yet clear what is happening, but, then again, there are not too many possibilities.


The most likely explanation is an Israeli strike from bases in Azerbaijan approved by the USA and NATO.

The recent synagogue attack in Israel, in which seven people were killed, which was in all probability carried out by a group supported in some way by Iran, may have served as the justification and pretext for the attack. 

The target selection, however -- factories building drones that will be sent to assist Iran's ally Russia -- appears to have the hallmarks of NATO and to be influenced by the war in the Ukraine. 

The location of some of the attacks also seems to be aimed at stirring up dissident activism in Iran, which recently saw major protests against the government. Centres of the protests like Hamadan and Karaj, as well as bases of the "unpopular" 
IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) were struck.
