Fuentes needs no introduction in these circles and indeed even in the mainstream now, thanks to Tucker Carlson, the big papers 'profiling' him, and the Trump administration ripping off his trollish social media style.
Nick is immensely talented, extremely witty, and often makes excellent points, as well as ridiculously stupid ones, which he then passes off as "ironic" or "knowing" jokes, etc., all adding to his appeal. But this is irrelevant next to what really drives him, which, in my view, is a deeply repressed homosexuality.
Let's follow this a little deeper. Here is Fuentes talking about his followers (young men or teenage boys) giving up marriage and essentially heterosexual sex to follow him into the deeper Groyper movement:
The point made, sacrificing for the movement and the "greater good" has a degree of logic and plausibility, but essentially this is just a closeted gay man using all his wit, intelligence, and charisma to push other young and malleable men into an all-male, defeminized space that will increase the chances of "gay things" happening.
The psychological driver of closeted homosexuality may also be behind his supposed avowal of "Christian Nationalism." This is sometimes seen as a clever ploy to remain nationalistic while avoiding the "toxic" positions of being an ethno-nat or wigger, but Catholicism and the "monkish" all-male lifestyle it promotes has long held an undeniable appeal for gay or sub-masculine men just like Fuentes. He clearly isn't the least bit interested in the actual teachings of Catholicism!
The bottom line here is that whatever Fuentes says, whether you find yourself nodding along in amused agreement or not, essentially all flows from the psychological engine of repressed homosexuality, or at least is tinted by it.
Regarding Fuentes' career there are many theories about who he is "really" working for, and you can take your pick. But looking at his past, it should be remembered that he was one of the recipients of a highly suspicious bitcoin donation back in December 2020, paid to several members of the Dissident Right just prior to the attack on the US Capitol on January 6th. This supposedly came from Laurent Bachelier, a Frenchman, who later, it was claimed, committed suicide.
The spread of the donation paints an interesting picture of the dissident right at the time.

Fuentes received 13.5 bitcoin (around $370,000 at the time) and then attended and spoke at J6, but appears to have avoided breaking any laws (although opinions vary on this and why Fuentes was then not prosecuted).
In February 2021, Patrick Casey, his "Number 2" in the America First movement, who received a smaller donation (see above), broke with him, supposedly over his participation at J6.
Fuentes may also have been a major recipient of the wave of donations paid out by the Kremlin to dissident righters to bolster Kremlin narratives shortly before the 2022 invasion of the Ukraine. Suffice to say, all those accounts, including Fuentes', turned out to be intensely pro-Russian in the years ahead and continue to be so.
For example, in February 2022 at his America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC), Fuentes asked the crowd: "Can we get a round of applause for Russia?" with the audience responding with chants of "Putin!"
In March 2022, Fuentes praised Putin as a "Czar" and "Liberator" for launching the invasion of Ukraine, claiming it was intended to "liberate Ukraine from "the Great Satan" and from "evil empire" (i.e. United States), dismissing in the process concerns about Russian war crimes, which had then surfaced. He also tweeted: "I know it’s not exactly politically correct but I support tsar Putin’s right to denazify the illegitimate state of Ukraine!"
But there are other problems with Fuentes' past. In April, 2021, Fuentes was famously banned from flying. He claimed that this was "political oppression" by the Biden administration. However, this story appears to be untrue, as Fuentes himself reported on Twitter that he had been involved in a confrontation with airline staff in December 2020 over his reluctance to wear a mask during Covid.

This refusal to cooperate with health rules during a global health crisis forced the plane to return to the gate, after which Fuentes was kicked off and black-listed by private airline companies. He then continually lied about the reason for his so-called "flying ban" for months, and still lies about it today.
On the plus side, his relentless critique of Israel and Jewish influence in the USA, which once looked like "rabid anti-Semitism" is now much more "in line" with the zeitgeist following two years of genocidal war by Israel against Gaza and revelations about how the Zionist lobby freely and repeatedly interferes in the politics of the West.
But always remember that any views from Fuentes -- good, bad or indifferent -- ultimately stem from a nebulous and inchoate desire to "groom" young men towards the "dark side" of his own unacknowledged and confused sexuality.
In the past this has also led him to turn a blind eye to such behaviour in its more explicit forms, as we see with his repeated excuses for his "Stop the Steal" associate Ali Alexander.
