What has been gradually dawning on me, especially in light of all the recent debates around the Ukraine aid bill and the stubborn resistance of Republicans to allow it to pass in the Congress, that the western Dissident Right is not only pro-Russian, but also is animated by a specific hatred of Ukraine, which can be traced to some very deeply subconscious reasons.
What the Ukrainians achieved with the Maidan Revolution in 2013-2014 was in fact a unique phenomenon in the history of the modern West: a people, united by a fierce will and a grassroots movement, successfully rebelled against and toppled their corrupt government. Such a demonstration of collective power and determination stands in stark contrast to the struggles and failures of various other dissident movements, particularly in the West and Russia, where similar aspirations have floundered.
What’s noteworthy is that in the years leading up to the Maidan Revolution, there were also attempts at resistance in Russia, namely the protests in 2011-2012 against falsified elections to the State Duma. Back then figures like Navalny, who spearheaded these efforts, advocated for peaceful protest, beseeching the government to step aside. However, this approach highlighted a deep-seated weakness within the movement. By imploring the government to relinquish power peacefully, the opposition revealed its underlying impotence, a tacit admission of their incapacity to forcefully oust the ruling regime.
The one who explicitly implores his abuser to step aside in order to avoid violence, in fact betrays his inability to enact that violence. Ukrainians, unlike the Russian liberal opposition did not ask the government to step aside out of goodwill. They acted and achieved what the effete Russian liberal opposition failed to achieve two years earlier.
The same impotence is also characteristic of Western dissident movements, particularly those that can be grouped under the rubric of Dissident Right, who similarly display a lack of the necessary resolve to effectuate significant change. Their animosity towards Ukraine, often manifested through a pro-Russian stance and dismissive attitudes towards the Maidan Revolution, therefore betrays a deeper sentiment of envy. These movements begrudge the Ukrainian people for achieving what they have long aspired to but have failed to realize due to their impotence - i.e., the overthrow of their own governments and transformation of their own societies.
The Maidan Revolution's success starkly contrasts with the ineffectuality of these Western and Russian dissident movements. The Ukrainians demonstrated that through courage, grit, and unwavering determination, it is possible to topple a government that does not serve the interests or the identity of its people, even when such a government is backed by a formidable military power.

Such assertions reflect not only their ignorance but, more importantly, their deep-seated unwillingness to accept the existence of a determined, passionate European nation capable of revolutionary change. This denial stems from their own failures and the uncomfortable recognition of their comparative weakness.

The crux of the issue lies in the concept of passionarity - i.e., the ability and desire to break the inertia and change the environment, a quality, as we can see, abundantly present in the Ukrainian spirit but sorely lacking in the dissident movements of the West and the mainstream liberal Russian opposition.
Ukrainians have shown the world that it is possible to confront and defeat both domestic tyranny and foreign aggression through the sheer force of collective will. This reality serves as an uncomfortable mirror to those in the West and Russia who find themselves paralyzed by their own inaction and incapacity to mobilize for real change.

The bile spewn towards Ukraine from Western dissident circles therefore reveals more about their own shortcomings than it does about the Ukrainian struggle. It underscores a profound lack of passionarity, a lack of determination and collective will, and a failure to grasp the essence of true revolutionary change.

Personally, I am not anti-Ukraine, all peoples should fight for their own, and I do not believe Russia is the saviour, all the Dugin multi polar nonsense clearly isn't in the interests of ethnic Europeans, but Ukraine seems to be fighting so they can have the same multicult diversity nonsense implemented.
ReplyDeleteI know that isn't the case in the literal sense, but that what it entails, maybe I am ignorant, and I am fine with admitting that, but if they overcome Russian aggression, it will just be them having endless mass immigration (Invasion) from outside Europe and all the the same sh*t we have in the rest of Europe. That's why a lot of people aren't that enthusiastic about supporting it.

'Globo homo", is probably the lamest argument ever. Ukraine's destiny and pro-EU aspiration doesn't reflect Western insecurities. All eastern european countries that are part of the EU experience less mass migration. This can be attributed to two key factors. Firstly, their governments tend to be more cautious about admitting hundreds of thousands of migrants, unlike their Western counterparts. Secondly, these eastern european countries are generally less appealing as destinations for migrants. When they risk their lives to enter Europe, migrants simply seek to benefit from the generous social programs of countries like France, Germany, or Sweden. In contrast, nations such as Poland, the Baltics, Hungary, and Slovenia do not hold the same value. They are poorer, and do not offer the same benefits.
DeleteUkraine in the EU would be in a similar position, especially after the war. To understand why Ukraine aspires to join the EU, just look at Poland’s development before and after EU accession. There's plenty of criticisms that can be made about the EU as an organization, particularly regarding the way it works. However, when compared to Russia as the alternative, the EU remains a far better choice. Russia is a true dictatorship, an underdeveloped shithole, Europe's HIV stronghold and is governed by an unholy alliance of the KGB with criminal mafia groups. Given these considerations, it’s evident that Ukraine would prefer EU membership over remaining a Kremlin puppet !
The reason why rightoïds aren't that enthousiastic about supporting Ukraine is not because they want Ukraine to be sparred from mass migration, (who do you think you're kidding?) but because they have a romanticized view of Putin and Russia as some sort of "based", christian conservative and pro-white fortress, which is nothing but a ridiculous wet dream of theirs.
It isn't a lame argument at all, it is just a short hand for global homogeneity or really egalitarianism. What I mean is the marco effect of Ukraine being subsumed into the process itself, not that people have some urgent attachment to the Ukrainians that they don't want them to have mass immigration.
DeleteI have spoken to plenty of people who more or less have this opinion, although they wouldn't express it in them terms, alot of people are apathetic and have this sense of indifference, they don't care about Russia or think it is some savour. Maybe the very online might, but I don't really interact with such types as I don't have social media.

I think, on the contrary, that the global homogeneity of the West is a good thing and needs to be defended. Although I can also understand the apathy of some, given the leftist shift of the West. I hate mass migration and woke cultural marxism as any sane person would. But in the end, what is the alternative to the West? Russia is indeed not a savior, nor even a simple alternative model. And if we don’t respond to the Russian threat in Europe, Moldova and Georgia could be next. I don’t believe in the hypothesis of a Russian invasion of the Baltic countries, because I use the rational thinking that Putin would never dare to attack NATO members. But given where he stands, who knows what nasty surprise he might deliver. His regime almost got swept away by the Wagner thugs last year, and today he trembles in fear before Navalny’s corpse. Russia is a mafia that possesses 6,000 nuclear warheads and a leadership crazy enough to start wars across the entire former Soviet bloc while blaming NATO or the USA. And the Western right isn’t just neutral and apathetic; they tacitly support Putin by refusing to give any aid to Ukraine gaslighting us by saying they care about "peace".

Forgive me for having been rude. When you said that Ukraine seems to fight so they can have the same multicultural/diversity crap as us, it was insulting to all those that died since 2014 to be free of Kremlin imperialism and the post-soviet corrupt oligarchy. They might romanticize the EU a bit, but who can blame them when they could become a "new Estonia" i.e. a developped, prosperous and free former Soviet republic. Instead, white ukrainians are getting raped and killed by Buriats and Chechen Jihadis with Iranian, Chinese and North-Korean weaponry. Russia is a Potemkin village that hides behind the beauty of Moscow and St-Petersburg the ugly multiracial and backwards third-world shithole that it really is.
