Mere days or hours after US War Secretary Pete Hegseth called for "more testosterone" in the military, a US Marine based in Japan brutally murdered a Japanese woman. Allegedly.
As reported by the Mainichi:
"A 20-year-old U.S. Marine was arrested Sunday in Okinawa Prefecture on suspicion of robbing and murdering a local woman, police said, prompting Japan to lodge an immediate protest with the United States and sparking outrage from the governor of the island prefecture, which hosts a heavy U.S. military presence.Devin Ballard, stationed at the Futenma air base, is suspected of killing Anna Yagi, 39, and taking her wallet and backpack in the early hours of Saturday at a hotel in Naha, according to the Okinawa prefectural police. The suspect has denied the charges, they added.Ballard was seen entering the hotel with Yagi, who was found dead on Saturday morning, the police said, adding that she died from suffocation due to being strangled."
Testosterone is a naturally produced anabolic steroid that can also be created artificially and injected.
In mammals it is linked to aggression, dominant behaviour, and sexual violence, which is exactly why the US Secretary of War is so in favour of it. Hegseth sees "high T" as a panacea to restore the fighting ability of the piss-poor US military. Since WWII, America's pathetic military forces have been unable to win a single meaningful conflict, despite a military budget that is now approaching $1 trillion a year!
This is due to the nation's inherent cowardice, and its inability to take even minor casualties. At present it is losing a war against Iran through its low-T reluctance to actually do some real fighting.
However, the downside of boosting testosterone levels in an army as famously undisciplined as that of the USA, is an inevitable rise in off-base rapes and murders. This is especially a problem with US forces stationed overseas, where locals may not fully appreciate the benefits of an American military alliance when their women are being raped and murdered.
